TGIF!! MilSpouse Friday Fill-In 1/28/11

Once again, I am just so relieved to have made it to Friday :)

It has been a crazy week. The Army brats are involved in so many activities (shooting, archery, volleyball, dance, speech, art classes, church...) that I never have a down day anymore. I am looking forward to summer when I will say "enough!" for a few short months.

If you are here looking for free ebooks, I haven't found enough for a post lately. Feel free to 'like' Our Crazy Life on facebook and be the first to know when I put a new one up.

Sometime in the next 24 hours (when I find a few minutes of peace and quiet!) I will be posting a book review for Irene Hannon's Fatal Judgment and giving away a copy. It was a great read - don't miss your chance to win!

If you haven't joined in the fun at Household 6 Diva's Blizzard Bloghop, you should! Check out my post and get to know me a little better here.

Wifey at Wife of a Sailor hosts MilSpouse Friday Fill-In. It is a great way to get to know other MilSpouses. Come over and link up!

And now for this week's questions:

1. If you were a famous movie star, what types of movies would you star in?

Romances, of course! But maybe the old WWII ones from the '40's (hey, this is fictional right? I can go back in time if I want to!) Or, if they ever remake Gone With the Wind, I so want to be Scarlett! I am a Georgia Peach after all!

2. What is a vacation you would like to take if money were no object?

I would love to spend a couple of months in Ireland and Scotland. I love the history and I want to see places like Boolavogue and Kilmainham Gaol in Ireland and I want to walk on the beaches in South Uist, Scotland where my great-great grandma would have walked before beginning her journey to a new land.

I also want to enjoy the music and make a fool of myself dancing in the pubs :)

3. Did you have pets growing up?

Lots of them! I don't know what every possessed my parents to let us have dogs, cats, gerbils, turtles, rabbits... I am sure I am forgetting something. Anyway, my very favorite was a black cockapoo that was mine from the day he was born. Boomer was my best friend for 12 years and I still miss him.

4. What do you do for exercise?

Real exercise people are going to laugh... but I love the step boxing on our wii fit . I also spend a lot of time climbing laundry mountain :)

5. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received as a MilSpouse?

I can't think of anything off hand, but for all those MilSpouses stopping by today, I will offer some (hey, I have six kids, I am used to giving advice even if you didn't ask for it!): Stay away from the negative! I know, we all gripe about housing and PCSing and deployments now and then and that is fine. But don't let the joy suckers bring you down. Hang out with other MilSpouses who build you up and encourage you and aren't afraid to tell you to snap out of it if need be.

Have a great weekend!

Love,

  1. I got to go to Edinburgh a few years back, and it was AMAZING!!! I just wish I'd have had the time to actually get out of the city and see more of Scotland! DEFINITELY go if you ever get the chance!
