What's Your Song? {Molly Malone}

*While you are here, don't miss my current giveaways! Enter here to win a Mother's Day package, including a copy of "Mom Connection" by Tracey Bianchi and here to win a copy of  "The Get Yourself Organized Project - 21 Steps to Less Mess and Stress" by Kathi Lipp.*

It's the first Thursday in a while that I have remembered to put a song up. I think after Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the rest of the week is just a blur!

Last night, the preschooler had a rough time. Too much sun, not enough sleep and the fact that it is dance recital week (lots of running) caught up with her. So I was in her room trying to sing her asleep, when all I really wanted to do was cuddle up to the Soldier. I know my rocking and singing nights will soon be gone though, and that makes me sad. As much as I dream about them all being college students, I will miss having little ones. It's hard to believe our baby will soon be five.

This is a song that my mother used to sing to me when I was little and I am sure her mother sang to her. If you think about it, it's not really lullaby music - kind of morbid maybe, but it's one of our favorites. Right up there with Whiskey in the Jar.

Have a wonderful Thursday and come link up your song with Goodnight moon!

What's Your Song? "Daydream Believer"

*Don't miss my current giveaway!*

While I didn't actually grow up with the Monkees, I grew up watching reruns of their t.v. show on Nickelodeon. So, in honor of Davy Jones, my song for today is Daydream Believer.

What's Your Song? "Sweet Afton"

Yesterday, the Soldier finally got his first post-deployment surgery. It began the long process of repairing his feet so he can continue to serve (um, and walk). He will be at home for the next four weeks (driving me crazy) until he can drive and go back to work. Poor guy is miserable and didn't sleep well last night, but he is looking forward to being pain free.

Since I now need a nap (and in honor of Robert Burn's birthday yesterday), my song for today is "Sweet Afton", sung by one of my favorite tenors, John McDermott.

Excuse me while I go curl up and snooze on the couch a while :)

What's Your Song? Schoolhouse Rock

Please check out my giveaway for a chance to win a copy of "Married Mom, Solo Parent"!

It is freezing here (like -7) and there is more snow than I want to deal with. I was tempted to put up "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas", especially since Christmas was so nice I wore flipflops...

But, since we homeschool, no snow day for us! (I will admit to still being in my pajamas.)

Today, I am torturing my children with Schoolhouse Rock and I thought that "Three Ring Government" was appropriate for the circus that is going on in the political world.

Is it Friday yet?

What's Your Song? "I Remember You"

I was driving home the other night, after a day of running children all over, when this song came on the radio.

I am almost embarrassed to admit that I remembered every word...

I *may* have traumatized the children.

And before you think I am really old, I was only 12 when this song came out! Why is it I can remember the words to a song from *that* many years ago, but can't remember where I parked the car at the commissary?

Linking up before I leave the house, once again, to run children all over...

Someday, I *may* get to stay at home.

What's Your Song? "The Wall"

I am thankful for the men and women who sacrifice so much, so that we may live free.

Please take a moment to say thank you this week.

What's Your Song? "Kiss Me in the Car"

Well, since I got to see the Soldier this past week, I let him pick today's song. We've been married for a long time and this is one of those songs that we have added to the list of fun favorites.

What's Your Song? Just Kiss Me!

The kiddos and I are super excited to see Harry Connick, Jr.'s new movie, Dolphin Tale, so we have been listening to a lot of his music this week.

This is one of our favorite HCJ songs. It is so funny to hear the 4 year old sing it :)

What's Your Song? - Daddy

This Saturday would have been my daddy's 62nd birthday. It's kind of hard to imagine him as an old man, since he has been gone for twenty years.

I still miss him more than I would than I would think possible after all this time. It makes me sad that he wasn't here to walk me down the aisle or to see his grandbabies born.

He was an amazing man who loved his kids more than anything. What I wouldn't give to be able to go back in time and tell him how much he meant to me...

I miss you daddy.

I will admit that I am not much of a Country music fan, but we grew up on Hank Williams, Jr. (it was the 80's and we lived in the mountains of Montana, what can I say?). This was daddy's song. We even played it at his funeral and buried him with his cowboy hat, boots and .45.

What's Your Song? Linkup - 19 Years

I am so excited that I am finally linking up with Goodnight Moon for "What's YOUR Song?" I always have great plans, but forget each week. Blame it on deployment brain...

This past week, the Soldier and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. He - of course - wasn't home, but at least he is in the states and we are counting down this deployment in weeks and not months anymore. It has been a long year!

When we were dating, I lived about 90 miles away (in the middle of nowhere) and the Soldier spent a good part of his time driving his old, beat up Nova out after work to visit for few hours and then drive back to town.

Happy 19th Anniversary to my amazing Soldier. I love you!
