MilSpouse Friday Fill-In and Weekly Round-Up

It has been another crazy week around here. Christmas is sneaking up on me and I am only about halfway done shopping for the six Army Brats. I am not a shopper and I kind of glaze over when I hit the toy aisle. We really don't need any more toys in this house anyway, it is already overflowing with stuff! Maybe Santa will bring me a maid this year :)

I need ideas and inspiration to get my shopping finished. What are you getting your kiddos this year?

It is Friday again and that means it is time for the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In & Weekly Round-Up!

I enjoy participating in both of these, even if I don't make it every week. Thanks so much to Wifey at Wife of a Sailor and Wife on a Roller Coaster at Riding the Roller Coaster for starting them! Please come over and join in on the fun :)

Here are this week's questions for the Friday Fill-In:
  1. What do you see your life like in 10 years?
We will have only one child left at home, so I am hoping life will be less hectic and a bit more quiet! I pray we will have moved onto a warmer climate. I am so cold up north! Maybe I will have had a book or two published by then.

  1. What do you like most about your job?

That I only have to work when I want to! Or when I have time, which hasn’t been a lot lately. I am a writer, check out some of my articles here, here and here and let me know what you think!

  2. What are three things you do every day, no matter what day it is?
Brush my teeth, shower & check facebook. Exciting isn't it? I know you are jealous.
  1. What would you do with an extra five hours in your day today?
Sleep! Especially since it is after midnight and I have to drive 180 miles to see a doctor tomorrow. Gotta love Tricare (insert sarcasm here: ______).
  1. What is your favorite Christmas (or whichever holiday you celebrate) cookie recipe (please share!)?
I love rosettes. I have a dear friend that has made them for me since I was little, but she moved away this year. It just doesn’t feel like Christmas without them!

This week's roundup is hosted by The Few, The Proud, The Wife.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Found your from the round up! I have 6 nieces & nephews so I almost can feel your pain on buying something for them. Last year we were bad and bought them all just 1 gift to share. A wii of course but they all love opening their own gifts don't they! Love your blog and can't wait to read more! Lydia

  4. Just dropping in from the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In to say that I hope your 180-mile medical trek goes smoothly and speedily. I can see why you'd want some extra sleep for that!

  7. I'm a new follower from the Weekly Roundup, I can't wait to read some more of your blog; 6 kids is absolutely amazing. I stress with just my THREE! I don't know how you do it with 6! I will be reading some of your past posts later tonight, maybe you'll have some wisdom for me, haha.

    Talk soon.

  8. Thanks everyone. It was an okay trip, as okay as a trip to get shots can be. Yuck.

Hopefully I can get some shopping done tomorrow. I also have a child with a birthday this next week, so not planned well ;0)

Lydia, you will find the that 'thirty somethings' aren't really that bad (at least that is what I keep telling myself 3 years in). I suppose once I adjust to it, I will be 40!

Lindsey, I am not sure I have much wisdom, but there is a not of snark and sarcasm :) Thanks for the follow!

Wife - I wonder if there is a workshop for military spouse writers... maybe on a beach somewhere? I think it could be tax deductible.

    Have a great weekend!
