Military Friday 2/25/11

It has been a long week. I left with the 17 year-old on Friday to visit a college in Texas (yes, I am really that old...) and got back Wednesday evening. We had a good time and visited family as well. I know there won't be many alone times for the two of us with her leaving in a few short months, so I am thankful that we had this time together.

We did snag a day in downtown Dallas to visit The Sixth Floor Museum and walk around on the grassy knoll (I promise a post with pictures as soon as I recover) and, of course, for shopping. My feet will need a week to rest before I return to normal activities :)

I almost didn't post today, but I hate to miss out on the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In and Round Up. I always have such a great time getting to know the other MilSpouses out in Bloggyland.

If you like to read (or just winning things!) and haven't had a chance to enter my latest book giveaway, there is still time. So far, there are only seven entries - so your odds are good :)

If you are here for the free book posting, there haven't been any new ones lately. There are still quite a few freebies from my previous postings that you can check out and I promise a 'bargain' post soon.

And now for the link ups...

Wifey, over at Wife of a Sailor, posts questions every week for us to 'fill in the blank'. Come on over and join us, it is a lot of fun!

1) Aside from no deployments, what is one thing you would want to make the MilSpouse life “perfect”? submitted by Oh How Delightful

Well, how about a housekeeper, a cook and a personal assistant? As a ‘single’ parent (thanks to deployment), I have no time to cook, clean, shop or even answer my email. I would love to have the time to spend with the kiddos and not worry about all the other crap stuff that needs to get done.

2) Just how many peppers did Peter Piper pick? submitted by Married into Army

We can let my personal assistant figure that one out. (See above answer.)

3) If you could have any career in the world with nothing holding you back, what would you do? submitted by It’s My Party and I’ll Cry if I Want To

I would love to have my books published. Of course, that would require that they leave my head and make it to paper, which may never happen with my schedule.

4) Do you have a service oriented tattoo and if so what is it. If you don’t what would you get? submitted by The Squid’s Accomplice

I hate needles, so I would never have a tattoo. Just the thought gives me nightmares. *shudder*

5) Imagine a block of time has opened up in your busy day for you to take a class in anything you like. What subject would you choose?  submitted by To The Nth

History, of course! I wish I had the time and money to audit courses for fun. I would also love to take a cooking class with the 17yo. She needs it desperately and it would be so much fun to do it together. Too bad that they don’t have anything like that in this one-horse town we live in.

And for the Round Up...

This week is hosted by Consider the Lilies. Come over and link up!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend. Come back soon for a giveaway to celebrate reaching 100 posts! Which is actually this post, but I haven't decided what to giveaway yet, any suggestions?

Love,

  1. Loved the Q& A today. I'm thinking in all your free time you should teach the 17yr old to cook! :)
Looking forward to your Dallas pictures! I loved the New Orleans post.
